Welcome to the home page of Theme Park Babelnet. This is the English language section of the Project Babelnet site. This site is maintained by teachers from all around Europe. Here you will find activities to help you learn in the European Community languages of English, French and Spanish. The site is hosted by the University of Salzburg in Austria, but the contributors come from many parts of Europe.

Project Babelnet

The project is part-financed by the European Commission. Its members come from schools, universities and other organizations. We produce teaching and learning materials, which are free to users of the World Wide Web.

For each language, the Project has written a Web site, based on a central idea or metaphor:

• For English: a theme park.
• For French: a TV channel.
• For Spanish: a person - Carlitos.

Each site contains teaching resources, activities for learning and links to regular events to promote the use of the European Community languages by young people around the continent.

Theme Park Babelnet

Why is this a Theme Park? We hope that this site can help you learn English through themes that are present in your own life. These include history, nature, adventure and everyday things like shopping and a place to live in.

Learning about English

Events

Project Babelnet organizes regular events for language learners in the European Union. These are run at the same time in all three languages. There is no event happening currently.
