TYPES OF ACTIVITIES:

The Forest is an area divided into eight areas. The areas are organised to provide activities for beginners, intermediate and advanced users. They are as follows:

Tips:

The activities give the user the opportunity to acquire new vocabulary where the user can work independently or with a partner. The reading activities may require some assistance for new beginners but more proficient beginners may be able to work alone or with a partner with very little assistance required.

These areas provide activities for the intermediate user. They are mainly based on reading comprehension, which gives the intermediate user the opportunity to test their proficiency and understanding of English.

Tips:

The activities are intended to be used on either an individual basis or together with a partner. There are a number of activities requiring the user to read a text before actually beginning the activity. Therefor, it may be advantageous to download the text and work on this in class or print it so the text is visible while working on the questions corresponding to the text. Some assistance may be required while the user is using the activities depending on the level of understanding the users have. Advanced learners can also use the activities.

Objectives of the activities:

These areas provide activities for advanced users where they are given the opportunity to work independently on the activities or with a partner. The intention with these areas is to allow the user to gain knowledge about the rainforest and the environment, Grandma Willow and the Tree of Life, and fables, Me and My Tall Tree Tales.
